I received first class care throughout my consultations and treatment at FGH. All the consultants
and nursing staff were excellent.
The hospital went through a challenging period of time a few years ago but there is now a positive vibe about the place and the staff are happy and motivated. This is now a great facility for the local community.
3 weeks ago I fractured my humerus and couldn’t get in for a surgical appointment in my local hospital, we travelled 90 minutes to Furness General. I was incredibly nervous to be so far from home (my dad works in the RLI and I know many staff members). I felt out of my comfort zone, alone and scared. I was greeted instantly by the staff and shown to my bed, the nurse came over to introduce herself and set me up within a couple of minutes. She was lovely, very quickly helped me relax and lent an ear to listen to my troubles, within 5 minutes my tears turned to laughter as we compared injuries of the past. All the staff at Furness General were very attentive towards all the patients, they checked up on us so regularly making sure we were comfy, hydrated and had everything we needed. I was so nervous about attending this hospital rather than my local hospital but I’m so glad I was there. Our ward was relatively quiet, it was relaxing and calm and the nurses let us enjoy the radio to pass the hours. Every staff member I met was a real credit to the NHS, they do a fantastic job anyway but to have such positive attitudes and energy during this pandemic is truly amazing.
Staff are very rude
Great care at furness general
Wonderful care and support from all the staff, domestic to consultant at FGH Urology Day Unit.
Thank you
I have been twice up to now and the kindness and care from the staff is amazing. They are more than thorough and nothing is to much trouble. They listen to you and explain everything so you understand it.
I was admitted to FGH last weekend with gallbladder problems. From the ambulance personnel, A&E staff, ultrasound staff, specialists and surgeons, domestics and especially the staff on Ward 5, I couldn't have asked for, or received, better treatment. Despite being admitted on a busy weekend night there care I received was 100%. Thank you to all who cared for me, you are all diamonds
A&E, HDU and Ward 9 recent admission. Treated with utmost dignity and respect. Had excellent care and clinical treatment, both second to none. I admire all the wonderful staff, they deserve 10/10 Gold stars.
I was seen at Furness General Hospital but had my operation at Westmorland general in Kendal. Both hospitals were exception in my treatment
